2025 Autumn Beauty & Lifestyle Diary

After surviving another sticky Tokyo summer, I’ve officially entered my cozy girl era. You know that sweet spot where your natural hair actually stays straight after flat ironing, makeup doesn’t melt off your face the second you step outside, and layering an outfit feels like a creative project instead of torture? That’s fall for me.

This year feels extra special, though. Between sipping my first butterbeer at the brand-new Harry Potter Shop in Harajuku, bouncing between beauty PR events, and spending more quality time with my daughter, I’ve realized something big: for the first time in a long time, I’m not just surviving. I’m finally falling in love with life again.

Let’s start with fashion, because nothing says new season, new me like a fall wardrobe refresh. En route to the Liquem Autumn Cherry launch party (details below), we stopped by the Harry Potter Shop in Harajuku. The best part? Finally dressing for cooler weather without sweating through my outfit five minutes later.

Beyond dark academia/Hogwarts cosplay-adjacent outfits, here are my must-haves for Fall 2025:

Fashion Favorites

  • Oversized Blazers — Tweed, plaid and houndstooth patterns are everywhere again this year, perfect for layering over minis or wide-leg pants.
  • Oriental Traffic Boots — Knee-highs are making a comeback, especially in deep brown and taupe shades.
  • Statement Bags —Minimal silhouettes with bold hardware (think sculptural handles and metallic details) are trending hard in Seoul and popping up in Shibuya select shops.
  • UNIQLO & GU Fall Collections — Affordable layering staples with updated earthy tones like olive, rust, and stone gray.

Where to shop: See my post My Favorite Places to Shop in Japan For Women’s Clothes and Shoes, which features Oriental Traffic, GU, Uniqlo, Muji and more!

September has been eventful in the best way. I’ve had the chance to attend both Loft Cosme Fes and Don Quijote Cosme Fes…Thanks to my new role as a VT Global Ambassador.

That explains why my Instagram feed has been very VT-heavy lately. When you’re invited to try new launches straight from the source, you want to share them. This season, my vanity is reflecting all the beauty lessons I’ve picked up from PR parties and Tokyo drugstore runs.

After months of lighter textures, I’m finally embracing richer creams, oils, and full-face makeup that stays put. Think warm brown shadows, burgundy lips, and a subtle gold shimmer that pairs perfectly with autumn leaves:

A fine, cloud-like mist that locks in hydration and sets makeup without that tight, desert-dry feeling.

VT COSMETICS CICA UV Tone Up Base SPF 50+/PA++++

Comes in 4 tones; I use Lavender to correct yellow undertones and create a brighter base under foundation.

Shiseido ELIXIR Moist Series

With their “Collagenesis” technology, this toner + emulsion duo supports firmness, hydration, and glow; basically the skincare equivalent of a cozy cashmere sweater.

Wakemake Waterful Glow Tint in 08 Rosist

A lightweight, hydrating lip tint I picked up at last month’s Qoo10 Mega Kit event in Shibuya. It gives a natural, dewy finish while adding just the right pop of color for fall.

2025 Autumn Beauty & Lifestyle Diary: Mom Life

One of the unexpected perks of this fall has been blending work, fun, and motherhood in new ways. My daughter has tagged along to a few PR events (like Liquem’s Autumn Cherry launch party and the Mega Kit event at the Qoo10 Live Studio), and we’ve even gone on a couple of Hato Bus tours together.

She’s at that age now where her personality is fully formed (read: she has opinions about everything), so there are fights sometimes. But honestly? I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Two years ago, when I first moved out on my own as a single mom, it felt like I was just pushing through each day out of necessity. Now, I’m savoring these experiences with her—PR events, Tokyo adventures, even quiet evenings at home—as actual joys, not just responsibilities.

2025 Autumn Beauty & Lifestyle Diary: Why I’m FALL-ing in Love with Life Again

2025 Autumn Beauty & Lifestyle Diary

So here’s where I’ve landed: fall isn’t just about layering blazers, trying new serums, or even sipping butterbeer (though all of those things help). This season feels like a personal reset, a reminder that motherhood, beauty, and lifestyle can coexist in a way that feels exciting instead of exhausting.

This autumn, I’m finally falling in love with life again.

And now I want to hear from you: What’s your favorite part of fall—whether it’s fashion, beauty, or just the cozy vibes?
