ガンプラに夢中 @ #ガンダムベース東京！

For the uninitiated, the iconic Gundam series has captured hearts with its epic space sagas and futuristic battles since 1979. The series revolutionized both anime and mecha culture, and the genius idea of #Gunpla (Gundam plastic models) emerged, allowing fans to build and customize their own plastic model kits.

Miss M and I managed to get our hands on an ~elusive~ Gundam Calibran gunpla kit (by lining up on release day). After putting it together,we went to Gundam Base Tokyo to recycle the leftover plastic parts. The Witch From Mercury displays were a nice touch!

#入学おめでとう #japanlife post👩‍👧I spent nearly 10 years working in Japanese daycares & kindergartens and writing about it over on @thewagamamadiaries.

Elementary school, however, is a new adventure for both of us! I have no idea what to expect, but I do feel “disadvantaged.”

Even though I speak the language, I feel like I already missed the out on a lot simply because I don’t have the cultural background (or any experience with Japanese elementary school!) compared to Japanese moms, who are expected to be the primary parent.

So, for the time being, I won’t blog much about the elementary school experience until maybe summer vacation, after I’ve had a few months to reflect.

With that said, here’s to new beginnings…in more ways than one!
