Elementary school, however, is a new adventure for both of us! I have no idea what to expect, but I do feel “disadvantaged.” Even though I speak the language, I feel like I already missed the out on a lot simply because I don’t have the cultural background (or any experience with Japanese elementary school!) compared to Japanese moms, who are expected to be the primary parent.
